ATLANTA — RTI (Restaurant Technology, Inc.), a leading provider of Web-based restaurant back office systems, announces an agreement with Offerdahl’s Café Grill, to implement RTIconnect food, labor and cash management systems in the company’s six corporate South Florida locations. Headquartered in Sunrise, Fla., Offerdahl's Cafe Grill is a fast-casual concept that serves chop bowls, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast items. It was named last year by Nation's Restaurant News as one of “America's Top 7 Hottest Concepts.”
In preparation for expansion plans, Offerdahl's Café Grill entered into a three-year agreement with RTI to use its RTIconnect back office for all of their corporate locations. RTIconnect will interface with Offerdahl’s existing Point-of-Sale systems to retrieve sales data, and will provide both a store-level toolset for the restaurant managers and enterprise reporting and drill-down capabilities for the corporate office.

“After an extensive evaluation of back office systems, we chose RTIconnect because we were looking for a system that would improve our overall operational efficiency and be able to consolidate the flow of data from our cafés. With RTIconnect, we will have easier and faster access to café data for all levels of the organization. RTIconnect is user friendly and can be task driven; which makes it easier for our café management to focus on John Offerdahl’s vision of providing our customers with fresh-baked, just-grilled, all-day food in an atmosphere that makes them feel great!” said David Pabon, Director of Technology for Offerdahl’s Café Grill.

RTIconnect was designed to interface with multiple POS systems, allowing operators to maximize the useful life of their POS, and choose “best of breed” solutions that are uniquely suited for their operational needs. By keeping the RTIconnect subscription cost affordable ($99 per store each month), RTI has assured that a positive return-on-investment can be achieved in a very short timeframe.

“Offerdahl’s made a commitment to quality growth by implementing RTIconnect in their corporate locations now, making it easier for them to carry their standardized operational procedures forward as they expand. At the same time, they gain an enterprise-level view of their business, allowing them to monitor the progress of each restaurant, and maximize profits by keeping the controllables in line with plan,” said Greg Waddell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at RTI. “We look forward to implementing RTIconnect and helping Offerdahl’s achieve their objectives for operational control that will enable and sustain their growth.”

About Offerdahl’s Café Grill
Offerdahl’s Café Grill is the creation of John & Lynn Offerdahl, real people who stumbled into the restaurant world with the opening of Offerdahl’s Bagel Gourmet, a tiny bagel shop in Weston, Fla. The first store opened in 1990 in the midst of John’s All-Pro football career as a middle linebacker for the Miami Dolphins, and grew to 10 stores before he retired from both football and bagels in 1995.
In 2000, John decided to open a new and improved Offerdahl’s by expanding the menu with unique, freshly prepared foods – OFFERDAHL’S Café Grill. The Specialty Grill features grilled steak and chicken over rice, salad and pasta bowls. The Bakery Café features the best in gourmet baguettes, pastries, John’s award-winning bagels, soups and sandwiches.
To build upon the continued success of the current restaurants, Offerdahl’s is preparing for expansion, anticipating 50 units by 2010.
