CHICAGO-Buyers looking for a luxury penthouse or condominium with a prime River North address need to act fast—only four residences remain for sale at The Montgomery, a stunning, 243-unit condominium conversion tower located at 500 W. Superior St. in the River North neighborhood.

Priced from $983,900 to $2.2 million, the remaining residences feature posh, mansion-like amenities and finishes set in one of Chicago’s hottest neighborhoods.

“Some of our best residences, with amazing views and amenities, are available,” said Jennifer Arons, senior vice president of Centrum Properties. “We’re offering a luxury lifestyle at The Montgomery.”

Nearly sold out, the sleek 28-story glass and white travertine marble high-rise—the former corporate headquarters of Montgomery Wards—was originally designed by famed architect Minoru Yamasaki and built in 1972, according to Centrum Properties, Inc., the developer.

The last available penthouse unit is Skyview Unit 05, a spacious 3-bedroom, 3½-bath plan with 3,745 square feet of living space and dazzling eastern and southern exposures. “This last penthouse is located on the 23rd floor,” Arons said.

Remaining residences offer 2 or 3 bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths, floor-to-ceiling windows, great outdoor space and up to 3,700 square feet of living space.

The Montgomery’s standard parking is available from $24,000 to $42,000, while tandem 2-car parking is ranges from $52,000 to $60,000. Monthly condominium association assessments are estimated at $500 to $1,112 per residence.

All residences at The Montgomery feature 10½-foot to 13-foot ceilings (per plan) with recessed lighting; oak flooring in the living areas; high-grade carpet in bedrooms, dens and studies; a glass partition at the window lines in the master bedroom (per plan); state-of-the-art structured media centers and cable/satellite-ready television outlets.

Each fully equipped kitchen features 1¼-inch granite countertops, Sub-Zero, Miele and Wolf appliance packages with double-bowl, undermount stainless-steel sinks, Grohe fixtures and Italian Linea Quattro and Woodmode designer cabinetry.
Master baths feature 6-foot soaking tubs, separate shower with marble floors and surround and frameless doors (per plan), Grohe faucets, Kohler undermount sinks, designer light fixtures and marble vanity tops.
A landscaped circle drive leads to the elegant, grand lobby with 26-foor ceilings and a 24-hour doorman. A concierge also is on hand to provide services from dinner reservations and theater tickets, to vehicle services and pet care.

Building amenities at The Montgomery include a state-of-the-art fitness center, hospitality suite, a Japanese-inspired garden and terraced roof deck, car-washing service, canine run, indoor bicycle storage and an optional storage room.

A four-star fine-dining restaurant featuring both indoor and outdoor seating also is planned for the ground level.

The River North neighborhood is minutes from Michigan Avenue’s “Magnificent Mile” shopping district and just steps from exquisite, award-wining restaurants, world-class theaters, sophisticated art galleries and popular nightlife destinations.

Since 1980, Centrum Properties has built a reputation as one of the most respected developers in the Chicago area.

Centrum and its partner companies currently are master developing 31 acres within the River North neighborhood.

In addition to The Montgomery, the company recently completed Domain, a 288-unit luxury loft residential complex housed in the historic Montgomery Wards Catalog Building. It also co-developed River Village, a new community of lofts and townhomes on the northern edge of River North.

Other current Centrum projects include: the nearly sold out 263-unit No. Ten Lofts, 1040 W. Adams, in the West Loop, the 480-unit Park Millennium, a 52-story luxury condominium conversion at 222 North Columbus Drive in Chicago’s New Eastside neighborhood, and The Fairbanks, the first phase of CityFront Plaza—a three-tower, $700-million luxury condominium development planned a half-block east of Michigan Avenue’s “Magnificent Mile” in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood.
Centrum Properties also has built some of Chicago’s most distinctive residential communities, including Bradley Place, Churchill Row, Dearborn Mews and Altgeld Court in Chicago, and Ashbury Woods in Lake Forest and Middlefork Woods in Northfield.
