PreschoolRock.com Expands Network to Promote Grandparent Involvement

November 28, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
PreschoolRock.com, a network about preschoolers, believes that for a preschooler to be well-rounded, they need to build strong relationships with their grandparents. In an effort to promote the grandparent-grandchild relationship, PreschoolRock.com has included and identified activities, crafts and games most suitable for grandparents to do with their preschool-aged grandchild.

While PreschoolRock.com recognizes that grandparents need to be active, they also recognize that their abilities become challenging as they age. Arthritis, visual and hearing impairments, and other medical conditions can make active play challenging. Therefore, PreschoolRock.com writers have written and identified activities, crafts and games that grandparents can easily do with their preschool-aged grandchild.

Activities, crafts and games most suitable for grandparents to do with their grandchildren are identified with a “grandparent friendly” icon. The Grandparent Friendly (GPF) icon is easy to identify; it is a small image of a grandmother. The Grandparent Friendly icon can be easily found at the top of the pages of activities, crafts and games that are most appropriate for grandparents to do with their preschool-aged children.

In addition to the grandparent friendly designations, PreschoolRock.com is seeking a writer to write for and manage the new “Grandparenting Preschoolers” site within the network. This site will include articles that address all issues related to the grandparent-preschooler relationship, as well as activities, crafts and games most suitable for grandparents to do with their preschool-aged grandchild.

Executive Editor, Stacey Lloyd, writes: “The relationship between the grandparent and grandchild is so very important. Grandparents make such a profound impact on grandchildren and the family unit. At PreschoolRock.com, we want to promote that special relationship by providing endless ideas for activities, crafts and game grandparents can do with their grandchildren. Just as parents need to have special things they do with their child that makes them feel unique and special, so do grandparents. We hope to help strengthen the bond between grandparents and their grandchildren with our wonderful activities, crafts and games created by our talented staff of writers.”
