November 30, 2006——To help everyone get into the holiday spirit, the Boca Symphonia and the Boca Ballet Theatre are offering a wonderful performance of Peter and the Wolf along with the Sounds of the Season. This very special FREE event will take place on Saturday, December 2nd at 7 PM at the Count de Hoernle Ampitheater at Mizner Park. Narrating the show, will be beloved DJ, Rick Shaw of Majic 102.7. Weather forecasters have told us to that there is 100% chance of snow at this event! Bring the kids, your lawn chairs and blankets and join your friends and neighbors for a delightful holiday tradition.

This is the season’s first offering from the Michael and Madelyn Savarick Concert Series. Madelyn Savarick, the presenting sponsor and major benefactor, has graciously underwritten the Boca Symphonia’s performances at Mizner Park so everyone will have the opportunity to experience world class concerts. Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia is again honored to recognize Countess Henrietta de Hoernle, a Savarick Series Benefactor, for her generous help in underwriting the four free Mizner Park Concerts.

“We are proud to be partnering with the Boca Ballet Theatre for this exciting holiday performance,” stated Jim Lupfer, President of the Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia. “And having Rick Shaw as the program’s narrator makes the evening all the more special.”

The Boca Symphonia will be the orchestral accompaniment during the ballet performance, which is directed by the Boca Ballet Theatre’s Co-Artistic Director, Dan Guinn. After the classic Prokofiev piece, The Symphonia will take center stage and perform an array of traditional holiday songs.

This segment of the show will be conducted by George Stelluto and will feature Marianne Cope, Soprano; Monica Krajewski, Mezzo Soprano; Albert Lee, Tenor; and Mark Hart, Bass.
