A Better Tripp Carries a Truckload of Christmas Joy

Houston, TX December 6, 2006 - What's Christmas without toys? Usually, A Better Tripp specializes in small shipments nationwide, shipping truckloads of antiques, couches, family heirlooms, bedroom sets and other household goods across the country. But at Christmas, A Better Tripp has a truckload of goodies for kids. A Better Tripp's owner, David Tripp, is a member of Windwood Presbyterian Church, one of the hundreds of churches countrywide that partake in Operation Christmas Child. Each holiday season, A Better Tripp joins the effort to fulfill the dreams of kids across the United States and across the globe.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child makes Christmas hopes and dreams a reality for millions of children. It is a project hosted by Samaritan's Purse, a charity devoted to helping needy children throughout the world. Since its inception in 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and hand-delivered over 39 million gift-wrapped shoeboxes to needy children in some 120 countries. Families all over the United States fill the shoeboxes with toys, candy, school supplies and personal hygiene items and donate them to Operation Christmas Child through their churches. Over 7.5 million shoebox gifts were collected and distributed to children in nearly 100 countries last year alone.

Windwood Presbyterian Church and A Better Tripp

Windwood Presbyterian Church, along with Windwood Christian Academy and Adventure Preschool, collected over 300 shoebox gifts in 2006. That's when A Better Tripp stepped in to do some heavy lifting.

For the past four years, David Tripp and A Better Tripp Moving and Storage Company have played an essential role in the gift drive by donating the use of a company truck. This year, a company truck large enough to hold the contents of a four-bedroom house pulled up in front of Windwood Presbyterian Church with a cheerful honk of the horn. "There is nothing more fulfilling than knowing you are helping to give the gift of true Christmas spirit to children," said David Tripp. Beginning on Monday, November 13th, members of the church and community filled the truck with hundreds of shoebox gifts. On Monday, November 20th, David Tripp's team drove the truck full of goodies to Houston's main Operation Christmas Child collection center.

David Tripp's 20 years of experience in the shipping and moving industry gives his clients the peace of mind that their personal goods are in the hands of professionals. The company specializes in nationwide moving, but also offers local services including packing, crating and transportation for any size dwelling.
