Neil Colstad, formerly vice president of sales for Index Engines, will dedicate his time to OEM partners and other strategic channels, as the company’s new vice president, business development. Rick Ruskin has been added to the team as vice president of sales and will assume responsibility for accelerating end-user adoption for the Index Engines product line.

Both Neil Colstad and Rick Ruskin are seasoned executives with decades of experience in defining, building and leading sales and business development organizations. Throughout Neil’s career, he has provided expertise and leadership in business development, go-to-market planning and operations, with a focus on enterprise storage and related technologies. Neil maintains a strong track record of success in positioning new technologies for broad base market acceptance.

With more than 20 years experience building direct and indirect sales teams at a variety of technology companies, Ruskin will spearhead the aggressive sales expansion of Index Engines’ enterprise-wide indexing and electronic discovery solutions which help organize enterprise data assets and make them immediately accessible and easily manageable for IT administrators at organizations throughout the world.

Neil Colstad is a seasoned executive with over 16 years of experience in defining, building and leading sales and business development organizations. Prior to Index Engines, Colstad served as vice president of business development and North American sales for Archivas, a provider of software-based archiving software. While at Archivas, Neil built and led the initial sales and system engineering team, secured the first $1M in revenue via direct sales and established a multi-year global OEM deal. Throughout his career, he has provided expertise and leadership in direct and indirect sales, business development, go-to-market planning and operations, with a focus on enterprise storage technology. Neil has proven success in both small and large organizations, positioning new technology for market acceptance.

Before joining Index Engines, Ruskin spent a total of 11 years at MTI, a leading multi-national provider of consulting services and data storage, storage management and data protection solutions. Prior to MTI, Rick ran the sales and field operations for Storability Software, a provider of storage management software. He also spent seven years in a range of sales management positions at System Industries, a pioneer in the plug compatible storage industry. As a result of Rick’s 20 years in the data storage business, he has established relationships with the most powerful players in the market and will leverage those resources for Index Engines.
