[MANCHESTER, NH] – Heartwood Media, an award-winning video, TV, and multi-media production company based in Manchester, NH, is pleased to announce the completion of the first “Heartwood Non-Profit Challenge”.

The Non-Profit Challenge is an annual competition for New Hampshire based non-profit organizations in need of a video or television production. This year’s winning organization, the Family Resource Center at Gorham, received a complete video production from Heartwood Media, free of charge.

The video shared the story of the Family Resource Center and its clients, and also highlighted the Center’s response to the closing of several northern New Hampshire paper mills.

"Receiving this opportunity from Heartwood Media was an incredible gift.” said Catherine McDowell, Executive Director of the Family Resource Center. “Not only did we receive a professional, thoughtful and artistic DVD, but the process helped all of us to really examine the work we do and its impact on the community. This was a once in a lifetime gift that we could never have afforded to produce on our own.”

“We had a wonderful time working with the Family Resource Center. We were truly inspired by the work they do” said Chris Conroy, Creative Director of Heartwood Media Inc. “We’re already looking forward to next year’s Challenge.”

Non-profit organizations from across New Hampshire are invited to apply to the 2007 Challenge. After a review and selection process, the winner will work with Heartwood Media to create a video program, TV commercial, CD, DVD or web video, depending on the organization’s needs.

The deadline for applying to the 2007 Challenge is January 26, 2007, and any New Hampshire based 501(c)3 organization is welcome to apply. An application form is available online at http://www.heartwoodmedia.com/challenge.
