LA-Based Production Company Signs Two Veterans With Global Appeal

LOS ANGELES, CA Joe Blow Films, the production company founded by Executive Producer Joe Piccirillo, has added veteran award-winning international directors Dick Buckley and Stanley to their creative roster. The company also represents directors Geoffrey Madeja, Scott Randall and Anibal Suarez.

"I'm proud to welcome both Dick and Stanley to Joe Blow Films," said Piccirillo. "They're a perfect fit for us. As we grow the company it's important that we maintain a boutique mindset. We want to keep things small so each director fills an important niche."

Dick Buckley
Perhaps best known for his 1997 Tabasco spot "Mosquito," which broke during the Super Bowl and went on to earn him a Gold Lion that year, Buckley comes to Joe Blow Films following an extensive freelance career that led to establishing himself as one of the most sought after filmmakers throughout Europe and Asia, as well as in the US. Buckley began his career as a director at Los Angeles-based Squeak Pictures, a company he helped launch. Later he joined by Coppos Films, Los Angeles. In addition to his quirky comedy and stunning visuals, Buckley is also known for his diverse kids work.

For Buckley, joining Joe Blow Films represents an exciting opportunity to reintroduce himself to the US creative community in a bold way with a company that he's comfortable with. " I have 'dated' many companies but for one reason or another it never worked out," said Buckley. "After years of being on my own I think I've finally learned the value of creating lasting relationships with agencies, clients and smart production companies like Joe Blow Films. Plus, I'm a big fan of Anibal Suarez's work and am proud to be on the same roster as him."

Buckley's current showreel includes spots for LG, Samsung, and Simplus.

Stanley
Born in Buenos Aires, Stanley has essentially spent his entire professional life in advertising. He began his career as an agency creative at the tender age of 18 at J. Walter Thompson, Argentina. From there he moved to New York to study filmmaking at New York University. Following graduation, he returned to Latin America to become Creative Director of Leo Burnett, Colombia. His commercial directorial debut, a spot for Chiclets gum, won a Clio.

In 1993 he launched Stanley Films.Net, with offices in Chile, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Venezuela and has since become one of the most in-demand directors working in Latin America. Specializing in fashion and youth/lifestyle spots, Stanley's work has been honored by the Clios and the New York Festival. He is also a three-time finalist at Cannes.

In addition, Stanley's 1995 music video "Ella Usó Mi Cabeza Como Un Revolver" for the acclaimed Argentina-based Soda Stereo won an MTV Video Music Award and his first feature film, the 2000 thriller "Monos con Navaja", has been screened at numerous international festivals.

For Stanley, whose current showreel includes international spots for Canada Dry, SAB MIller, Samsung, Ripley, joining Joe Blow Films provides him strong representation in the US for both English and Hispanic work.

"I have had a marvelous experience in the US Hispanic market and felt it was time for my work to reach the whole US market," said Stanley. "Joe Blow Films has great reputation and I believe is the perfect launching pad for me. I trust and admire their professionalism, talent and I truly feel they can deliver."
