Tune in to ‘The Virtuous Women’, Dr. Taffy Wagner and Ms. Bettye Jamerson, co-hosts of the Literary Corner podcast, this Monday, December 25, 2006 where they talk with the charismatic Jodi Pliszka to discuss her award winning children’s books, her upcoming autobiography, and her experience on ABC’s American Inventor.

Jodi Pliszka is a clinical therapist who lost all of her hair at the age of twenty due to an auto immune condition called Alopecia Universalis. After suffering through an abusive marriage and devastating divorce, Jodi and her daughter had to rely on God to see them through. Jodi first began finding her true purpose when she published her award-winning children’s book series “Bella and Gizmo’s Adventure”. The main characters, both hairless sphynx cats, celebrate the differences and encourage acceptance of all people and things, despite how they appear.

Later in the show, Jodi describes how she received an invitation to try out for ABC’s “American Inventor” to showcase her Headline It invention, a liner for people who wear wigs and other head gear. Jodi became a top twelve finalist on the show and the Headline It is now in the manufacturing process. In January 2007, her autobiography “Bald is Beautiful: My Journey to Becoming” is being published and released. Tune in to the Literary Corner to hear her inspiring and amazing journey.

The second half of the hour, Bettye and Dr. Taffy reflect on Jodi’s process of taking personal adversity and turning it into a God-driven passion that became bigger than she could have ever imagined.
