MENLO PARK, CA and BOULDER, CO, DECEMBER 27, 2006… Vive!, a family-focused transition program that began providing assistance to Bay Area families in May, announces the official opening of its Northern California regional office in Menlo Park. Nationally-recognized as one of the most effective transition programs in the United States, Vive! (www.vivenow.com) is a unique, action-oriented program for at-risk teens and troubled young people returning from residential treatment programs and may be of help as a preventative measure before out-of-home placement. The company’s team of Bay Area healing professionals works with troubled families in their home environment to successfully transition the young people back into their real world environment. In addition, Vive! helps families manage life’s crisis situations and transitions by offering 24/7 support that promotes sustainable, positive outcomes.

Located at 431 Burgess Drive, Menlo Park, the Vive! office is led by newly appointed Regional Director, Diane Harrington. With 15 years in marketing and business development, along with her experience as a passionate, practicing marriage and family therapist, Diane leads the Vive! team of behavioral health professionals in family and adolescent mentoring and coaching. Diane is personally skilled and experienced in dual diagnosis therapy – treating individuals with substance addiction combined with mental health diagnoses. She has worked with such adolescents, adults and families in both residential and outpatient treatment settings. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida.

In cooperation with Northern California educational consultants, psychologists, psychiatrists and public/private school systems, Vive! has found immediate acceptance of its unique approach and philosophy among Bay Area families. The mission of Vive! is to promote the health and wellness of families while transitioning underachieving youth into higher functioning adults.

"We estimate that there are over 500,000 teens that may be classified as “at-risk” or underachieving across the United States,” shared Terry Tierney, CEO. “In the past year, we have had a number of Bay Area families come to Colorado to be part of our program, so it made sense to bring the practice closer to them. With our practitioner team located in Menlo Park, we collaborate with the many unique and qualified referral sources that serve the needs of so many Northern California families in crisis.”

Founded in 2000 in Boulder, Colorado, Vive! has worked with hundreds of families in Colorado, California and across the U.S. who seek guidance in helping their children deal with the myriad of issues facing young people today. While Vive! may be the first place families begin the healing process, it has found a niche in transitioning children and young adults from wilderness programs and therapeutic boarding schools back into their home community environments or even college.
