National Comedy Theatre presents New Year's Eve Spectacular

The National Comedy Theatre will present its annual New Year’s Eve Spectacular on Sunday, December 31st, beginning at 9:30 p.m.

In addition to the regular performance, there will be catered food, and an after-show party with the cast, culminating in a countdown to the New Year.

Similar in style to Drew Carey’s “Whose Line is it Anyway,” the National Comedy Theatre (NCT) is a high-octane improvisational comedy show based completely on audience suggestions.

The National Comedy Theatre is competitive, team improvisational comedy played just like a sport. Two teams in uniform go head-to-head on stage in a battle for laughs, with a referee overseeing the action. The referee is on hand to call “fouls” such as the “groaner,” (if a player tells a pun that makes the audience groan) and the dreaded “brown bag foul,” called if a player says anything offensive, in which case a brown paper bag is placed over the offender’s head.

Because the comedy is improvised, fans never see the same match twice. Audience members are encouraged to yell out suggestions throughout the match, making for a unique show every performance. And because the show is CLEAN, it is appropriate for all audiences.

The show has received national acclaim and is appropriate for all audiences.

Tickets for the New Year’s show are $79. Reservations may be made online at
