NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZERS WASHINGTON, DC METRO CHAPTER ANNOUNCES KEYNOTE SPEAKER AND PRESENTERS FOR ANNUAL SEMINAR 2007

Washington, DC – The National Association of Professional Organizers, Washington, DC – Metro Chapter (NAPO-WDC), the central resource in the DC Metro area for organizing professionals, is pleased to announce several well recognized speakers and presenters for the 9th Annual Seminar which will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel & Executive Meeting Seminar Center in Bethesda, Maryland on March 17, 2007. This day long event titled “Break Through: Take Your Business and Clients to the Next Level.”

The Opening Keynote Speaker is Kathy Peel, the CEO and Founder of The Family Manager Coach Network. Her organization provides training and helpful resources and services for busy families through a national network of Certified Family Manager Coaches. The author of eighteen books, which have sold over two million copies, Kathy has also appeared extensively on television shows such as Oprah, HGTV, CNN, Good Morning America, and The Today Show. In addition, she has been featured in magazines such as Ladies' Home Journal, InStyle, Reader's Digest, Parenting, Family Circle, and many more. Kathy speaks frequently—nationally and internationally—at conventions, corporate and civic events, and churches on home and family management, work-life balance, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Her presentation for the Annual Seminar is titled “Going Above and Beyond: The Path to Personal and Professional Success.”

Dr. David Tolin, the Founder and Director of the Anxiety Disorders Center at The Institute of Living, will also participate in this year’s Annual Seminar. Dr. Tolin is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and is the co-author of the newly released (December 2006) Buried in Treasures: Help for Compulsive Acquiring, Saving, and Hoarding (with Randy Frost and Gail Steketee). He is also the author of over 90 journal articles and book chapters, and over 140 research presentations to national and international organizations. Dr. Tolin has been a recurrent guest on The Today Show, Good Morning America, ABC News, and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Dr. Tolin will share much needed information during his workshop “Buried in Treasures: The Psychology of Compulsive Hoarding.”

Joining our esteemed group is Kathleen Nadeau, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist who has devoted the past 25 years of her career to the diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Dr. Nadeau is an internationally recognized authority on ADHD, and the author of a dozen books on the topic, including *ADD-Friendly Ways to Organize Your Life (co-authored with Judith Kohlberg). She has appeared on the Morning Show and the Today Show, and has been featured on television in Japan, where she talked about organizational challenges in women with ADHD. She will continue her focus on this topic with her presentation “Taking Your Clients to the Next Level: Teaching Them to Create an ADD-Friendly Lifestyle.”

Additional speakers include Feng Shui expert Annie Pane, who has been featured on several television and radio programs, and Jocelyn Coverdale of Ballantrae Solutions, a company that specializes in productivity training and office organizing consulting for busy professionals.

Our Closing Speaker is Donna Smallin-Kuper, the author of six books on cleaning, uncluttering, organizing, and simplifying life that have sold nearly 600,000 copies in multiple languages. Donna is also the CEO of OrganizedGreetings.com and was the NAPO 2006 Founders Award Recipient. She’s been a guest on HGTV’s Smart Solutions, CNN’s Open House, and the CBS Saturday Early Show. Her tips appear frequently in Woman’s Day and Real Simple magazines as well as Redbook, Woman’s World, and other prominent magazines. Donna was also a presenter at the 2006 NAPO National Convention and Keynote Speaker at regional NAPO conferences in Houston, Washington, DC, and Wisconsin. To close our seminar, Donna will address a popular topic with her presentation “Break Through Marketing: What’s in Your Future?”
