Budapestlets partner Gordon Cross described how he arrived in Budapest and identified a significant opportunity in the property market for renovating and refurbishing traditional buildings which could then be marketed as serviced apartment accommodation for the rapidly expanding tourist market. Together with his Hungarian partner he purchased and renovated a small number of period buildings before approaching a number of UK based contacts who quickly joined Gordon in investing in property having fallen for the charms of the great city. Since that early phase the business has grown and has a thriving web site and rapidly expanding portfolio of properties which it manages.

In a little over two years the company has developed a portfolio of 14 properties which are let on a short term basis and have recently opened an office with a target of developing a portfolio of up to 100 properties which they aim to manage and let on a long term basis.
