Hartford, Conn.—With women starting businesses at twice the rate of their male counterparters, many women find it difficult to get the information they need to make their business a success.

That’s why area resident, Ja-Naé Duane, recently launched a weekly talk radio show on WXCT in Boston called Wild Women Entrepreneurs This Week. The program can also be downloaded and listened to anytime at www.thewildwe.com.

Duane, of West Haven, CT, is the president and founder of Wild Women Entrepreneurs (Wild WE). She is also a professional opera singer and entrepreneur, who is dedicated to singing, acting, networking and marketing. She mixes her entrepreneurial side with her love of performing on her website (www.Ja-Nae.com) by offering tips for musicians and artists on how to promote themselves and generate publicity. She has remained dedicated to her hometown and is a two-time recipient of the key to the City of West Haven.

“Research shows there’s an enormous market opportunity out there of women looking for smart and engaging talk radio. With very little programming that really targets women on the radio, we wanted to create a show that’s a real need in the marketplace,” says Duane.

Studies have shown that women are not satisfied with the talk, news or information currently available on radio. In a recent survey, only 43 percent said they listen regularly or occasionally to talk radio today, whereas 74 percent said they would listen regularly to talk radio for women.

Each week, Duane will discuss a topic with an influential woman entrepreneur, and listeners’ questions will be answered on business building. Listeners can win special prizes throughout the program. The show runs from 9:00 to 10:00 AM (Eastern) every Monday.

Wild Women Entrepreneurs is established in cities throughout North America and Europe, encouraging the more than 3000 women members to reach their full potential in business and in life. Wild WE’s objective is to share the tools, networks and ideas women need to assume leadership positions and empower women to become fun, fabulous, fearless females.
