Senator Reid former Counsel Joins One Economy

Waldo McMillan, former Counsel for Business Affairs and Strategic Outreach in the Office of United States Senator Harry Reid, joins One Economy Corporation as Vice President & General Counsel.

In this newly established position, McMillan will direct One Economy’s growing legal affairs and public policy agenda and also guide other strategic initiatives.

“Waldo McMillan is skilled, committed and experienced. He will play a key role in shaping our public policy agenda,” said One Economy’s Chief Executive Officer Rey Ramsey. “We are excited to have him join One Economy’s leadership team and look forward to working with him in the years ahead.”

In the office of Senator Reid, McMillan’s responsibilities included providing strategic advice and support on numerous leadership policy initiatives as well as serving as the leadership staff person on technology and communications issues.

McMillan is native of Wilmington, Delaware and a graduate of Howard University and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Prior to joining the staff of Senator Reid, he was an associate at the law firm of Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell.

In addition to the hiring of Waldo McMillan, One Economy announced the promotion of one of its co-founders, Alec Ross, to Executive Vice President, External Affairs. In this role, Ross will continue to oversee all public policy, business development, fundraising and communications functions.
McMillan and Ross will both be based in One Economy’s headquarters in Washington, D.C
