Jamaica Gives Coffee Lovers Free Trips with Christopher Bean Partnership

KINGSTON, JAMAICA – January 2007 – One of Jamaica’s best-known exports is its famous Blue Mountain Coffee and through a partnership with the Christopher Bean Coffee Company, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) invites American consumers to try Jamaica’s coffee and enter to win one of 5 trips for two to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. A 6-week-long sweepstakes promotion is being implemented in 31 states with on-pack awareness and entry blanks on 50,000 packages of Christopher Bean Coffee.

The promotion began in mid-December with specially marked packages of Christopher Bean Coffee arriving in stores the week of December 18. Participating retailers include: Publix, Kroger, Lowe’s Foods, Fry’s, Dillon’s, King Soopers and City Markets. Entry into the sweepstakes will also be open to consumers through the Christopher Bean Coffee Company web site at www.christopherbean.com. "We're pleased to be partnering with Christopher Bean coffee to further emphasize that Jamaica produces some of the finest coffee in the world. The JTB focuses not only on promoting travel to Jamaica, but also the variety of sights sounds and tastes that our country offers and therefore this promotion is a perfect fit," says the destination’s Director of Tourism, Basil Smith.

Additional promotion for the sweepstakes will be generated via coupons in Sunday newspapers on January 7, 2007 in selected markets in Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Texas and Arizona. There will also be billboards promoting the sweepstakes displayed for a minimum of one month beginning January 8, 2007 in Dallas, Houston, Tampa, Atlanta, Phoenix, Denver, Cincinnati and Ft. Myers, Florida. The official entry period runs from December 18, 2006 through March 16, 2007.

There will be 5 prize trips awarded and each includes round trip airfare for two via United Airlines from the United gateway closest to the winners’ home, 5-day/4-night all-inclusive accommodations at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort & Spa in Ocho Rios and a Chukka Caribbean Adventures Jeep Tour including a visit to a Jamaican coffee plantation. Winners will have one year from date of issue to redeem their prize. In addition, 50 First Prize packages will be awarded consisting of a Jamaica travel bag, two bags of Christopher Bean Coffee, a Jamaica coffee mug and a t-shirt. All winners will be selected at random from among all eligible entries received.
