At Birch River Grill – An American Kitchen (75 W. Algonquin Rd.; Arlington Heights, IL; 847-427-4242), Executive Chef Daniel Sikorski has prepared a special four-course Valentine’s Day menu. The feast begins with Dungeness Crab Puffs with a Lemon Verbena Scented Buerre Blanc and is followed by a choice of Grill Roasted Quail Salad accented with a Blood Orange and Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Chestnut Leaf Reserve Chardonnay Cheddar Fondue accompanied by Peppercorn Flatbread or Kobe Beef Carpaccio served with Caper Berries, Grape Seed Oil and Shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano. The third course features a delicious rendition of the classic “surf and turf” of Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail served with a Merlot Syrup and Veal Jus with a Woodland Mushroom Crust followed by a “Chocolate Grand Finale” of Raspberry-Chocolate Ganache Ecstasy, Strawberry Truffles and Valrhona Chocolate Mousse.

The temptation begins with a choice of Lobster Bisque with Sweet Curry and Crème Fraîche; Prosciutto, Prawn with Mission Fig Molasses, Yellow Tomato and Pepper Cress; or Roasted Heirloom Beet with Warm Goat Cheese, Tatsoi and Pumpkin Seed.

Main courses include your choice of Pole-Caught Virginia Striped Bass with Grilled Ramp, Red Russian Fingerling Potato and Sweet Pea Emulsion; Peacock Farms Amish Chicken with Chanterelle Mushroom, Patty Pan Squash, Roasted Cauliflower in Brown Butter or Valrhona Cocoa and New Mexico Chili Rubbed Grass-Fed Strip Steak with Cabrales Bleu Croquette and Mississippi Moon Farm Asparagus.
