ATLANTA – The Weather Channel Interactive, Inc. (TWCI), today announced the launch of an interactive weather map utilizing Microsoft Virtual Earth. The new tool, available with one click from all city pages on weather.com, allows the user to easily pan and zoom to get unmatched detail of current radar and satellite imagery and offers the option of viewing road or photographic aerial maps.

The new weather.com interactive map features a new transparent slider bar, which customizes the extent to which the underlying basemap is visible through the weather data. This new feature, coupled with the high-resolution Microsoft Virtual Earth imagery, gives users the ability to see where significant weather is -and isn't- occurring in their immediate area. The new tool is available for virtually any location worldwide.
