AXIOMTEK Released a Cost-Effective, Extremely Low Power Mini ITX Board with AMD LX Family

January 20, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Taipei Taiwan — AXIOMTEK, as a trusted Applied Computing Platform provider, is pleased to express a cost-effective Mini ITX motherboard, the SBC86620. This extremely low power Mini ITX SBC supported AMD Geode™ LX family processors which is around 0.9 watt only. This Mini ITX motherboard lowers the total cost of ownership by dramatically reducing customer’s system implementation costs and improving time-to-market by standard I/O outlets.

The industrial grade Mini ITX board SBC86620 built-in an ultra low power AMD Geode™ LX processor which delivers the high performance per watt. It embedded the AMD Geode CS5536™ chipset which is optimized to work with the AMD Geode™ LX 800 processor and gave users a complete processing solution requires high performance and low power consumption. The standard from factor (170 mm x 170 mm) embedded SBC presents great performance at lower power for communication, automation, embedded markets, and further extending battery life for mobile applications, while delivering full x86-based functionality. This mainstream core engine enables developers to quickly create small from factor embedded computing and industrial computing devices. System integrator can implement their applied computing systems simply with best CP (Cost & Performance) value as most profitable weapon.

Compared to the existing Mini ITX form factor platforms without solid state disk support in the market, the SBC86620 provides USB DiskOnModule (DOM) interface for embedded OS storage with booting capability. Besides, it takes advantages of cost and LVDS LCD output interface from desktop architecture and laptop computer respectively. Available of the above features, the embedded platform gives users a superfine balanced solution between performance and cost.

“It is an ideal core engine for low power, cost-effective and transaction terminal applications” said Joseph Chou, Product Manager of Embedded Computing Division. “It delivers an application-oriented solution as PC-based embedded platform like POS, Kiosk. The SBC86620 is apparently ready for developers as they are able to come to one manufacturer for all embedded or industrial requirements.”

The DIMM socket supports one 184-pin maximum up to 1GB. This function-rich Mini ITX SBC provided CRT and LCD displays, two fast Ethernet for network communication (Gigabit Ethernet in option), six USB 2.0 ports for high speed peripherals, and 8 channels Digital I/O for industrial control applications. AC’97 Codec audio maximizes customer’s business opportunities to adopt the board into various applications. Beside, it reserves one PCI expansion interface through riser card and supports 4 COM ports for industrial peripherals. The Mini ITX motherboard’s standard form factor and rich I/O features make it an incredible engine for SBC enclosures.

The RoHS compliant product will be available around the end of February, 2007. For more information or pricing, please contact your territory sales representative or info@axiomtek.com.tw
