Reuters selects Plateau’s hosted solution to provide global enterprise-wide e-learning

February 01, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Plateau Systems, a leading provider of software for developing, managing and optimising organisational skills and talent, today announced at the Learning Technologies 2007 conference that Reuters, the world’s largest international news and financial information source, has selected Plateau’s integrated learning management system (LMS). Reuters will deploy Plateau’s fully hosted LMS solution to support and streamline e-learning and training initiatives across its entire organisation.

Following a competitive evaluation and thorough assessment of several vendors, Reuters chose Plateau’s fully hosted solution and will integrate the content libraries from key suppliers to create a single catalogue environment for learners. By providing a single, centralised point for delivering, managing, tracking and reporting on employee learning activities, Plateau’s solution will enable Reuters to achieve greater learning effectiveness while reducing training administrative overhead.

Plateau’s industry-leading customer satisfaction ratings, coupled with its unparalleled ease of use, ability to support Reuters’ global training initiatives, proven scalability in supporting simultaneous use of the system across all users were key factors in Reuters’ selection of Plateau. Deploying and relying on Plateau to manage and support the solution in a hosted environment will enable Reuters to reduce administrative overhead, expedite upgrades and maintenance as well as increase use of the system throughout the organisation.

“Plateau impressed us with its professionalism, deep learning management experience and domain knowledge, solid reputation for delivering best-of-breed learning management solutions. It also stood out for its proven customer success record, as validated by Plateau’s customers, partners and leading industry analysts,” said Andy MacGovern, Head of Learning for Technology at Reuters.

“From a technology perspective, we are confident in Plateau’s ability deliver the critical features and functionality required to meet our e-learning goals while integrating quickly and seamlessly with our existing systems. In addition, with Plateau hosting and supporting the solution, Reuters will be able to free up internal resources for other projects, which will save us time and money.”

Plateau’s flexible, functionally advanced and highly scalable solution replaces Reuters’ previous systems which was complex, highly distributed, costly to maintain and lacked necessary capabilities for tracking and reporting on employee learning. Plateau’s intuitive tools will enable Reuters to identify, track and record employee training automatically while providing a scalable, extensible platform designed to support the organisation’s future training and development initiatives.

Using Plateau’s self-service reporting and tracking capabilities in a hosted environment will enable Reuters to reduce costs by decreasing the need for third party reporting tools and reducing the associated overheads and ongoing support costs.

“We are pleased that Reuters, one of the world’s premiere providers and distributors and news and financial information and one of the UK’s most innovative and progressive organisations, has chosen Plateau to manage its critical e-learning and training needs,” said Paul Sparta, Chairman and CEO of Plateau. “By selecting and deploying Plateau’s solution, Reuters will be able to effectively align their employees’ training and development needs with their critical business requirements to maximise productivity, minimise redundancy and ultimately increase the company’s bottom line.”
