Santa Fe Springs, CA, February 7, 2007- The Polynesian Paradise Dancers (PPD), a professional Polynesian dance company, will be performing in World-Fest this spring at Silver Dollar City theme park in Branson, Missouri. They will be joining performers from all over the world for this annual event, which is said to be America’s largest international festival.

PPD will be representing the islands of Polynesia and will be among various international performers, including the Zunyi Acrobats of China, the Zambian Vocal Collection and Costa Rica's Grupo de Proyeccion Folklorica Kamuk. They will be performing an authentic Polynesian revue, featuring exhilarating fire knife dancing, traditional yet originally recorded Polynesian music, live drumming, and a talented cast of exotic Polynesian dancers.

“We are so proud to have been chosen to represent the Polynesian Culture for this wonderful event,” shares PPD director, Akemi Welsh. “All of us are looking forward to meeting all of the other performers and spreading some Aloha spirit.”

World-Fest runs from April 6th to May 5th and shows are scheduled to run daily. Tickets and season passes are now available online or by phone.

The Polynesian Paradise Dancers are based out of the Academy of Polynesian Performing Arts (APPA) in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Under the supervision of Welsh, APPA offers classes in various types of Polynesian dance, including Hawaiian hula, Tahitian, Maori, Samoan, and drumming.
