Open Source Live! Expands OSS Technology Program Nationwide

Redwood City, California; February 6, 2007 – Open Source Live!, the Silicon Valley-based training program for architects, Java users, and web developers, will be holding their first classes of the year beginning this March. Starting with their 3-day event in San Diego from March 6-8, this all-inclusive OSS training program will follow up with classes in Los Angeles on March 9-11, with additional classes to be held in other US cities over the coming months.

"Open source programming has been well received by individuals and companies across the globe. However, the limited availability of quality training materials and support is a problem that can only be overcome by means of hands-on training. Through our Open Source Live! practicum we provide expert instructors who present meaningful tools to students in a hands-on laboratory environment," explained P. Vilas Tulachan, Founder of Open Source Live! "Our classes have been designed to shorten the learning curve so that students can immediately put into practice what they have learned upon returning to work. What usually takes someone at least ten weeks to discover on their own we have been able to shorten to just three days with our practicum," added Tulachan.

Every Open Source Live! practicum is taught by experts in their field. Open Source Live! has retained a team of working developers and authors who cover topics such as Hibernate 3; Java Server Faces (JSF); Spring 2; AJAX with JSF; Maven 2; JUnit; TestNG; and AspectJ. Students select the learning track that is appropriate for them and bring their laptops to their classes. Class size is limited to 15-30 participants to maximize interaction; assistants are on hand to support the instructor, to help answer questions, and to provide lab assistance.

"Students who are eager to learn open source software will benefit from the hands-on learning experience," stated Tulachan. "To that end, we include continental breakfast, lunch, and refreshments onsite as part of the cost of the program so that students can concentrate on their learning. Students receive a hard copy of the lecture handout for their selected track, soft copies of the presentation slides, software on DVD for all of their sessions, and have wireless access. Optionally, we are offering two nights of open forums where students will have the opportunity for additional interaction with their instructors and peers," concluded Tulachan.

Following the first three classes which have been scheduled for California, Open Source Live! will be brought to Seattle, Dallas, New York City, Raleigh, and eleven other locations. Please check the website for specific dates and locations or call Mr. Tulachan at (408) 420-2723.
