The IBA decision follows a resolution issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic to support the expansion as an investment project within the business development program of the Czech Government implemented by CzechInvest, the Czech Investment and Business Development Agency.

IBA Group established its Brno development center in 2005 as an extension of IBA CZ, the development center located in Prague. Afterwards, IBA Group chose the city of Brno for further expansion in Central Europe to meet the demand of Czech and other European clients for on-shore and near-shore software development services. Within the project, IBA is planning to create 50 new jobs for Brno IT professionals, including local university graduates.

The investment allows for the dynamic expansion of the Brno development center and the seamless integration of newly employed developers with the current team of Java EE experts. Furthermore, it will accelerate the transfer to Czech IT professionals of the IBA Group expertise in IBM mainframe software, and SAP and e-business technologies.

Commenting on the event, Sergei Levteev, IBA Group President, said: “The Brno branch is not the only IBA office in the Czech Republic. In 1999, we established a development center in Prague and in 2005 relocated our headquarters to the Czech capital. The reasons behind the decision to invest in the expansion of the Brno branch are conducive business environment in the Czech Republic, the country’s EU membership, and the growing interest in IT outsourcing of the European business community”.

According to Tomas Hruda, CEO of CzechInvest, “the Czech Republic has attracted a remarkable inflow of projects into the IT and business support services sectors in the past few years. The country has a potential to become an information technology heart of Europe and IBA Group, which has recently relocated its world headquarters to Prague, is yet another example of this trend. CzechInvest is pleased to collaborate with IBA on its Brno project, as the proposed center will provide sophisticated software development services which are a key part of the company’s business plans".
