MOVE TOWARDS MAXIMALIST CHIC

February 17, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
Fed–up with vast white spaces, functionalism and minimalist design? Travel Intelligence, the hotel website founded by AA Gill, has detected a move away from minimalism towards “maximalist chic” and has increased their portfolio of hotels for those who embrace colour and fun and even some artful, stylish clutter. These include:

Czech out the Alchymist in Prague
The recently opened Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa, dating from the 16th century has forty six rooms decorated in a neo-Baroque style. The hotel’s décor oozes decadence with gilded cherub, marble topped tables and crystal chandeliers. The hotel boasts a spa with an extensive range of treatments and a Jacuzzi lit with a crystal chandelier.
The forty-six bedrooms are romantic and lavishly decorated with huge beds and lashings of gold leaf. The Alchymist suite, perfect for romantic and decadent honeymooners, has a four-poster bed, oversized Italian marble bathroom and a freestanding bathtub.
