Cagney & Lacey Launch Website for 25th Anniversary

The EMMY award winning show Cagney & Lacey launches official website for 25th anniversary. It has been 25 years. That was Cagney & Lacey’s producer Barry Rosenzweig’s answer to the question, “Why now?” We have waited, procrastinated, and fought for so long, and then… much faster than any of us realized… 25 years had come and gone.

The idea behind Cagney & Lacey was never to just create a show, it was to create a show that mattered. Cagney & Lacey was never a police drama; it was about two women who happened to be cops. It was about their lives, their struggles and their heartache; and sometimes lines between life on and off screen became blurred. Rosenzweig pushed taboo topics into the foreground when no one else was talking about them. He offered vibrant, feisty, outspoken, and smart women each week and you welcomed them into your home

The Cagney & Lacey website is the creative vision of Barney Rosenzweig and the strategic marketing agency The Mixx. The Mixx works with some of the most well known brands and companies providing strategic branding, marketing, and messaging solutions. The site concept and aesthetic layouts were designed by the creative team at the Mixx to target the devoted fans of the EMMY Award winning television show. Fans can submit and view photos, trivia, and comments which can be approved and added to the site in seconds and on the fly by the CagneyandLacey.com webmaster.

Cagney & Lacey merchandise including the DVD series and Barney's book will be available for purchase on the site soon. Within days of the site launch, organic search engine traffic soared to the site from fans all over the world. Utilizing an SEO agency to implement search engine friendly website code was a required element in the Mixx's marketing plan. The interactive modules are working tremendously and keeping users on the site for long periods of time and engaged. It is clear that the EMMY award winning television show still has a dedicated fan base and hopefully the new website will satisfy their appetite after 25 years of waiting.
