Vouchon.com seeks to aid those in need of solid, first hand recommendations and advice

Vouchon is pleased to announce its public unveiling as it sheds its beta drapery. A new community platform, Vouchon is a place to go to seek advice and recommendations from people who have been there or done that before. More than questions and vouches, Vouchon is about people relating to each other, sharing knowledge and experiences.

Ryan Stewart, co-founder of Vouchon, recently found himself in Bangor, ME on business and wondering where to have dinner. "Bangor is a beautiful city in a beautiful state. I knew there had to be great food there; I just didn't know how to find it," says Stewart. "I was looking for an enthusiastic recommendation. I wanted someone to say, 'I've been there, experienced it, and it was great. You should experience it too.'"

That thought stayed with Stewart and he decided to build a website where people could ask for and provide recommendations, not just on food, but on anything. In fall of 2006, Stewart partnered up with Noel Ruiz, programmer and entrepreneur, to build Vouchon. The pair who live on either side of the country and had never met prior found that they shared a common goal of contributing helpful content and tools to the online community.

Now graduating from a successful beta run, Vouchon has already attracted a new group of people that enjoy vouching on advice and recommendations. These vouchers enjoy voting on the best and contributing to a new and exciting community.

To celebrate its launch, Vouchon is offering a contest: Recommend the best tagline for Vouchon.com. The winner will receive $100 in prize money.

Ryan Stewart, 30, sun-lights as a development officer for his alma mater, Maryville College, and moonlights as a web consultant with his company, Eleven21 Design & Consulting (www.eleven21.com). When he's not online, Ryan enjoys time with his wife, Jeanna, and their Chihuahua, Pedro.

Noel Ruiz, 27, is a technology consultant specializing in dynamic web applications. After graduating from UCLA with an MS in Computer Science he went on to create a Los Angeles, CA based IT Consulting firm, Spark Technologies (www.sparktechno.com), with two close friends and colleagues. Noel enjoys discovering new technologies and working on exciting projects like VouchOn.
