April 17, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
City of Industry, CA (April 15, 2005) –Broadax Systems Inc. has announced a new line of Embedded Microsystems. The EMS-6746 is an ultra low power fan less embedded platform Micorsystem. The fan less design allows for this system to operate noiselessly and with high reliability. To meet wide industrial applications in the market such as PO, ATM, Kiosk, Thin Server and others, the EMS-6746 is able to perform in critical temperature environments from -25°C ~ 60°C.
This unit is superb, especially for applications, which do not allow venting holes for dust proof concerns. The EMS-6746 also has a Watchdog Timer function, which automatically resets the device and will send an error message to the administrator. This reduces the need for maintenance and down time.

The EMS-6746 contains a C3 1.0GHz Processor, which attaches to the SBC-84600VE. The Microsystem comes standard with 256MB Memory and an integrated Pro Savage4 2D/3D Video accelerator. There is no Optical drive or Floppy Drive, only a 40GB Hard Drive. Also standard is an integrated Realtek 8100C 10/100 BT (w/ WOL) and an AC-Link Interface for AC97 Audio Codec Kit. There are three 9-pin D-Sub Male connector, which are COM 1, 3 and 4 for RS232. One 9-pin D-Sub Male connector, COM2 for RS485/422/232. One PS/2 connector for K/B and M/S through Y-Type cable. One USB connector and one 25-pin D-Sub Female connector for LPT. A 70W 100/240 VAC Power Supply powers the EMS-6746. The dimensions are 255mm x 225mm x 63mm (W x D x H) and the approximate weight is 2.65 kg

Some of the options for the EMS-6746 are various sizes of Compact Flash Memory for use on the Single Board Computer, Different Microsoft Operating Systems and third party software. Also upgrading to a 80GB Hard Drive and 512MB Memory is feasible.

Prices and Availability
The cost of the EMS-6746 is $945.00. Prices vary with additional drives and other options.
