Direct EDI, Inc. Expands UCC-128 Label Service

February 27, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Direct EDI, Inc. has recently expanded their UCC-128 Label Service to include selling label stock at wholesale prices. UCC-128 labels are vital to trading in an EDI environment because they serve to bridge the gap between EDI document transactions and the actual cartons.

Direct EDI, Inc. has taken the one stop shopping for UCC-128 labels to the next level by offering label stock at more than 30% off of retail prices in addition to previously offered services. Compare to competition some of whom do not offer any UCC-128 label service or offer very limited capabilities.

Additionally to offering label stock Direct EDI, Inc. provides three other UCC-128 solutions to satisfy their customer base and help keep them in compliance with their retail trading partners. The first option included free of charge with EDI service consists of downloading a data file that can be fed into label software and printed in house. Using the second method the labels can be downloaded in PDF format and printed by different types of devices, including laser printers and more robust solutions, such as thermal printers. This alternative still offers the flexibility and convenience of printing labels onsite for a small monthly fee. The third solution, available for suppliers who cannot print labels in-house, are pre-printed labels, these can be shipped out within 24 hours of order placement.

Since UCC-128 labels require adherence to strict standards, Direct EDI, Inc. has taken the necessary steps to ensure that all of their label templates have been approved by the individual retailers. They have been through extensive testing to ensure that the barcodes are scanable and compliant. UCC-128 labels have been a common source of chargebacks for many companies because the precision and accuracy needed to print the barcodes is often unattainable by common printers. Ensure that you have the proper solution in place for your company.
