Daytona Beach Advertising Federation Presents 2007 ADDY® Awards Region’s Best Advertising and Creative Honored at Annual Gala

DAYTONA BEACH, FL, February 25, 2007, The Daytona Beach Advertising Federation presented its 2007 ADDY Awards for advertising creative excellence Friday night, February 23rd, at the News-Journal Center. This annual dinner and awards presentation was attended by more than 200 local advertising, business and community leaders.

Of the 137 entries received by the Daytona Beach Advertising Federation, 13 Gold ADDY Awards, 20 Silver ADDY Awards and 49 Bronze ADDY Awards were presented. Entries were judged based on creativity, originality and creative strategy.

Top awards of the evening went to the "Best-of-Show" and "Judges Choice" winners. Mary Ruppel Advertising captured the "Best-of-Show Overall" and "Best-of-Show Print" for a Physician Packet created for Radiology Associates. Hayworth Creative Public Relations garnered "Best of Show Electronic" for its e-Blast campaign created on behalf of Bella Brava New World Trattoria. Hayworth Creative Public Relations also won "Best of Show Public Service" for its Volusia Literacy Council Cartoons & Cocktails campaign.

The 2007 "Judges Choice" Award winners included Moving Minds for Logo Design, Nerve for its Ocean Deck Restaurant & Beach Club Rasta Sauce campaign and Hayworth Creative Public Relations for the Volusia Literacy Council Cartoons & Cocktails campaign.

The Daytona Beach Advertising Federation’s Presidents’ Award — given to companies and individuals that have made an outstanding contribution to the advertising profession — was awarded to Stephanie Benedict, Treasurer of the Daytona Beach Advertising Federation. And the coveted Silver Medal Award — recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and the community — was given to Jan Edwards, Director of Sales for Bright House Networks.

“This year’s winners represent the best of our region’s advertising and creative talent,” said Toni Maddux, Daytona Beach Advertising Federation President. “Given the quality and ingenuity of this year’s award entries it’s no wonder that Daytona Beach’s leading companies continue to rely on the collective marketing and advertising expertise of the DBAF membership to grow their businesses.”
Hayworth Creative Public Relations, Nerve and News-Journal Corporation each won two Gold ADDY Awards and Boss Advertising & Design, Dale E. Roberts & Associates, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Mary Ruppel Advertising, Moving Minds and Zgraph each won one Gold ADDY.

This year, the winner of the most ADDY awards went to News-Journal Corporation who received a total of 17 ADDY Awards; two Gold, two Silver, and thirteen Bronze.

This year’s festivities were sponsored by Unisource Worldwide, Inc, Walker Foil Company, National Indexing, Daytona Pennysaver, DME, Browning Communications, Nerve, Moving Minds, WCEU and Bahama House & Best Western Aku Tiki Inn.

Proceeds from the ADDY Awards help support the Daytona Beach Advertising Federation's educational programs, public service projects and proactive government relations efforts.
