Impact Unlimited Wins Award for Next Generation Convention Exhibit

Dayton, N.J. (February 2007) – Impact Unlimited, a leading provider of brand communications for events, exhibits, and meetings worldwide, earned an ACE Award from the Business Marketing Association of New York City for its fully immersive convention exhibit created for Pfizer Inc.

Impact Unlimited – which designs, produces and manages integrated events, meetings and exhibits – received the ACE Award in the Event Marketing (Show/Event Program) category. The ACE Awards recognize the hottest creative campaigns in business-to-business marketing communications.

The ACE Award was given in recognition of Impact Unlimited’s “Listen for the Pain” Immersive Multimedia Experience created for Pfizer as part of an effort to build awareness of a painful condition called Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN). The multimedia exhibit was designed to help draw a distinction between diabetes and neuropathic pain – a separate, treatable condition.

This scientific exhibit featured several “Experience Pods” that immersed physicians in a simulated experience with the condition, and featured video with 180 degree viewing angles and Dolby surround sound as well as sensory effects such as smells, wind and vibration. Each pod played video that gave insight into what life would be like with DPN. The video included patient perspectives, medical animation giving detailed information about the condition, a physician’s exam and a final resolution. After the experience, many physicians responded that they would rethink patients visits and “listen for the pain” of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.
