RENO, Nev. February 2007—NewsTalk 780 KOH will host its Fourth Annual Radio-Thon to benefit the Veterans Guest House on Saturday, March 3. The house has a clear and unwavering mission to provide veterans and their families with caring support during times of medical need.

NewsTalk 780 KOH, the Atlantis and the Gold Dust West are the primary supporters of the Veterans Guest House, which is the first of its kind in the nation. The House, located in close proximity to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center at 880 Locust Street, Reno, Nev., offers services including overnight accommodations, continental breakfast and access to a VA Liason to the families of hospitalized veterans as well as veterans who are required to travel long distances to receive out-patient care.

"During the month of February, our goal is to raise $125,000 to cover a portion of our operating costs," VeteransGuestHouse.org posts. "(The house is) chaired by co-founders,Chuck Fulkerson, the honorary co-chairs are: Mayor Bob Cashell, Mayor Geno Martini and Commission Chair Bob Larkin."

The radio-thon is a major part of the Veterans Guest House's annual fundraising campaign. This year's campaign also includes the opportunity for people to join the 880 Club. Members of the 880 Club donate $880 which will be used exclusively to retire the mortgage on the new building.

Another way to help the Veterans Guest House is to "adopt" a day for a $100 donation. The day adopted can be in honor or memory of anyone the donor selects. A sign is located in the Veterans Guest House to recognize the person being honored, and this is an excellent way to honor a veteran while helping people in need.

The Veterans Guest House is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. For more information on how to donate, call the Veterans Guest House at 775-324-6958 or mail donations to Veterans Guest House, 880 Locust Street, Reno, Nevada.
