Launch of Water Culture Network
Provides Solutions To Global Epidemic

New York, New York (April 18, 2005) — Water Culture Network, a global non-profit organization committed to delivering clean, safe water to people in need, will host a cocktail reception at Chelsea Piers on Monday, April 25th from 6-9PM to celebrate its launch and mission.

On World Water Day, March 22, 2005, the United Nations announced its decade-long “Water for Life” initiative, with the goal of halving the number of people without access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation by 2015.

Renowned environmentalist and explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau is the founder of Water Culture Network. The non-profit group will bring together leaders in business and government, individuals and non-governmental organizations to help solve our world water crisis through innovative, proven technologies and solutions.

“We have the ability to provide clean water for every man, woman, and child on the Earth. What has been lacking is the collective will to accomplish this. What are we waiting for? This is the commitment we need to make to the world now,” said Cousteau. “This is the commitment of Water Culture Network.”

Thomas Von Essen, Former NYC Fire Commissioner and Senior VP, Giuliani Partners; Stephen Johnson, CEO, Ecosphere Technologies; Ryan Hreljac, Founder of Ryan’s Well Foundation; designer Mary McFadden; and actress Mariska Hargitay will join more than 300 businesspeople, environmentalists, government officials and celebrities at the event.

The event will also highlight the donation of the only large-scale mobile filtration system verified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, produced by Ecosphere Technologies, Water Culture Network’s inaugural Founding Partner.
