The UMass Donahue Institute Presents Leadership Transitions

March 03, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Education News
The UMass Donahue Institute is pleased to announce the second series of topics to be offered by their Future Leaders Institute (FLI), titled Leadership Transitions.

Building upon the leadership concepts addressed in their first Future Leaders Institute, Fundamentals of Leadership, this new series, Leadership Transitions, will provide mid- to senior-level managers with enhanced awareness, skills and tools to manage the array of transitions they are confronted with in today’s workplace.

Participants will examine the challenges brought on by recent government and administration changes. In Leadership Transitions, change will be viewed from a variety of perspectives and addressed “from the inside out.” Participants will begin with a personal leadership assessment and examination of their own managerial practices in "Executive Surviving and Thriving" and in "Managing Transitions." They will then review the characteristics and benefits of a diversified, multi-generational workforce in "Managing Different Generations at Work," and culminate the series in "Succession Planning" by developing a personal legacy plan for the future.

This cohesive program will engage participants in the use of theoretical and practical exercises, in-depth discussion and an exchange of experiential learning. As leaders in organizations, Leadership Transitions will prepare participants to initiate, implement and support change, and offer direction on how to sustain it.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion for their participation in Leadership Transitions and are eligible to receive University of Massachusetts Continuing Education Units (CEUs), if desired. No prerequisites required.

This is a series of four, full-day sessions being offered on Wednesdays April 4 and 11, Thursday April 26 and Wednesday, May 2 at the UMass Donahue Institute Shrewsbury, MA facility, 333 South Street, Shrewsbury, MA. The cost is $825 per participant, which includes all materials, assessments tools, certificate of completion and light refreshments.
