Specialmoves calls for full service agencies to outsource specialist interaction design

April 21, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News

Specialmoves, an independent interactive design agency, is championing the move for full-service agencies to outsource the process of interaction design to specialist agencies. While this ensures the return of high-quality design to the interactive industry, it also frees full service agencies to focus on what they do best; client management, strategic marketing expertise, media and developing creative concepts.

Darrell Wilkins, Managing Director of Specialmoves, comments, “It does not make sense for full service agencies to try and manage every process. Full service does not mean you have to be all things to all people; in fact, outsourcing high-end production is an established way of working in the TV and advertising industries.”

Specialmoves believes that the specialism of pure, high-end production requires skills and programming techniques that would prove uneconomical for full service agencies to invest in for a few campaigns. 3D animation, realtime interactive 3D and multi-user environments require a heavy investment to produce TV, or better, quality projects for the web.

Wilkins continues, “Production quality really matters; it forms the user experience, and can positively influence and affect clients’ results. This requires specialist skills, programming techniques, technology and an investment in hardware that is just not economical for most digital agencies. Moreover, it requires experience and expertise in the interaction design field. Interaction is an exchange that rewards the user with something that will delight and inform and it is this understanding that makes us experts at what we do.”

As part of the process to champion outsourcing for quality production, Specialmoves has appointed the PR specialists, immediate future, as its retained PR agency.

Wilkins continues, “The immediate future team specialises in raising the profile of companies in the digital industries. The team’s insight and knowledge of interaction design will ensure that our key communications are delivered to the right people.”
