March 08, 2007 — James H Heal & Co. Ltd recently participated in the BTMA (British Textile Manufacturers Association) Symposia, which took place in three major textile cities in India, between the 10th and the 16th of January 2007. These Symposia were organised by the BTMA with the support of the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and were held in Mumbai, Tirupur and New Delhi. The symposia focused on quality control and testing instrumentation.

James H. Heal’s Technical Sales Manager, John Kent, visited all three locations and gave an expert presentation titled: “Reducing the cost of non-conformance by Laboratory Testing”. John’s presentation gave ideas that illustrated how Heal’s customers can use laboratory testing instruments to reduce costs and minimize the quantities of products that are rejected or have to be re-processed because they do not meet necessary performance levels.

Featured in his presentation were HEAL’S Xenon Arc Light and Weather Fastness Tester Apollo, Universal Strength Tester Titan2, Washing & Dry Cleaning Colour Fastness Tester Gyrowash, Intelligent Bursting Strength Tester Truburst, HEAL’S Service and Calibration Division HEALINK and HEAL’S range of Quality Assured Consumables.

The presentation was welcomed by the symposia delegates and the relevancy of the topic to Indian companies, seeking to increase their export potential by enhancing the ‘quality-assured’ status of their manufacturing operations and finished products, was stressed.

John commented: “The delegates, and particularly those in the south of India, seemed to enjoy the presentation. The level of discussion and number of questions that came afterwards confirmed that it had generated interest and provoked their thoughts.”
