9 March 2007 – is reporting a three-fold increase in bookings since it converted its car hire broker site into a price comparison service at the beginning of last month.

The new website now compares prices from 40 leading brands, including Holiday Autos, Opodo, EBookers, Alamo, Sixt, Thrifty, and their own prices, allowing customers to quickly compare and book the best deals.

Unlike other meta search engine comparison sites such as TravelSupermarket, which use pay per click (PPC) revenue models, uses a commission per acquisition (CPA) model, which it says provides a fairer service to car hire providers and better prices for customers.

Gareth Robinson, marketing director of, said: “The move to become a price comparison site was a major development for us, but it has already paid off in terms of visitor numbers and bookings for both our own brand and the other companies featured.

“Prices in the car hire market change so quickly that it is impossible for one brand to always be the cheapest in every location. By changing to a price comparison service we are offering a fairer service for visitors, enabling them to check and compare the best prices from 40 different suppliers from within a single site.”
