Minneapolis, MN – March 10, 2007 – Maud Borup announces a new (POP) point of purchase caramel program available to convenience stores across the country. The attractive wooden display crate features Old Fashioned Vanilla and Chocolate wax wrapped caramels that can sit on your counter top or near the check out area. The caramels sell 3 for $1.00.

“Our caramels have been a hidden secret for almost 100 years as we have only marketed them to specialty retailers. This launch will bring our awesome product to the mass market convenience stores,” says Kim Kalan, VP of sales and marketing.

In 1907, Maud Borup began selling chocolates and caramels on a card table at a Flower Shop in St. Paul Minnesota. As her patrons recognized that her passion for quality and her cardinal rule of "no substitutes" meant an unbelievable product, Maud founded her own business. Over the years the business grew and created a loyal customer base that grew as new generations took over. Made in small batches with fresh and natural ingredients, and dipped by hand over an open fire in large coppers kettles is still the way Maud Borup caramels are made today.

“You will be seeing a lot more of the Maud Borup name and you will know when you taste one of our caramels because they truly are the best,” says Mercy Ray, director of convenience store sales.
