The Hummus Blog is the first of it's kind: a blog dedicated exclusively to the popular middle-eastern dish, and rellevant issues. Such as tahini, the second most important ingredient in hummus.

Today, not only there are about 200 million people in the middle east who eat hummus, but there is also a $143 million market for packaged hummus in the US. In Britain, hummus is even more popular.

Is was estimated that about 15 million Americans eat hummus on a regular basis. In England itself, though being a lot smaller, the number is around 8 millions.

In Israel, a country with a small population of 7 million people, the hummus market has grown in the last two decades from $25 million to $250 millions. Tahini market is around $50 and growing.

Tal Galili, one of The Hummus Blog team: "we think in the next few years hummus will become almost as popular in North America and Europe as it is in Israel. This means a multi-billion market of packaged products, hummus restaurants, and related products such as Tahini".

His brother, Shooky Galili, another member of THB team: "We already have a very successful hummus blog in Hebrew, and we think the English version is going to be super-popular and probably ecconomicaly viable".
