March 9, 2007 – Fort Lauderdale, FL — Spend a week at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale this summer and leave with new skills, new friends, new experiences, and a new outlook on what to do for a career in the media, design, culinary, or fashion industries.

From July 23-27, high school students have an opportunity to explore creative education programs from the perspective of a college student in The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s College Connection. This week-long experience provides a teenager with an introduction to what it’s like to attend a career oriented college and learn about and use tools, techniques, and theories that are practiced by professionals in their fields.

Student will attend hands on classes taught by the same professional experts who teach at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. Shoot and edit video, whip up a culinary treat, design an interactive game, construct a new product or fashionable garment, design an advertising layout, and more! When not in the classroom, a variety of activities are planned each day to maximize the experience of being in an artistic and creative college for a week. Students will go home with a project they have created and a greater knowledge of what they want to do after high school.
