New York, NY (2007) - Music lovers will enjoy an early taste of Spring with New York Metro Vocal Arts Ensemble's (NYMVAE) sultry and comedic presentation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera, Le Nozze di Figaro, on March 16, 17, 23, and 24. This single mad day of romance and misunderstandings, culminating in a courtly garden, will be the inaugural performance for NYMVAE's collaboration with Bayard Rustin High School for the Humanities in Chelsea. The opera will be performed in Italian with supertitles, in four acts, and with a small orchestra accompanying.

“Our version of Le Nozze di Figaro is NYMVAE's answer to the romantic comedy,” said Director Jennifer Learned. “It’s the ideal production for showcasing the vocal talent and comedic skills of the best of New York City's up and coming opera singers. We're thrilled to provide an opportunity for the performers to grow; and subsequently introduce new audiences to the humor and wit that is found in an opera by Mozart.”
