Raptivity Unveils Video-based Learning Interactions :New Video TurboPack released

March 15, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
In a breakthrough addition to its Raptivity product line, Harbinger Knowledge Products today released its brand new Video TurboPack. With this unique tool, trainers can easily build video-based two-way learning interactions.

“Active participation, rather than passive watching, creates better learning outcomes from video. The Video TurboPack lets trainers achieve just that, while retaining the audio-visual appeal of video,” said Vikas Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director of Harbinger Group. “We’re overjoyed to release this pack on the heels of last week’s Games TurboPack.”

With increasing bandwidth capabilities, video is becoming a more and more viable learning medium. However, videos are generally not as involving as course creators and learners would like them to be. The inactivity in watching a talking-head video, for instance, tends to put learners off. Raptivity Video TurboPack includes several video interaction models that go beyond usual audio-visual modalities and involve learners through interactions during a presentation.

For example, course creators can now start with a talking-head video and synchronize it with a slide show. They can even add wake-up questions which reduce the video to a thumb-nail size and await answers before resuming the presentation! Or, they could use a video documentary, introduce pause points and voice-over their own comments. They can add closed captioning, subtitles or tickers easily.

The TurboPack makes videos searchable too. This means learners can easily reach a particular part of the video, based on what they want to learn.

“For Raptivity users, adding the Video TurboPack is so much a plug-and-play affair. And the video customization process is so simple – it’s just too easy,” added Seema Chaudhary, Director, Business Development.
