A new non-profit organization for women business leaders starts in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania July 2007. Meetings will be held the second Wednesday of the month at Marion's Room, 107 W. State St., Kennett Square, PA. A portion of the $10 meeting fee will used to support local women/children organizations.

Already familiar with starting and running a successful organization, Dr. Bronwyn Martin, is starting another organization, but with a different format and in Kennett Square, the heart of southern Chester County. Martin believes doing business is easier when you know people. And Chester County Business Leaders in the Community is aiming to do just that: providing a forum for women to get to know each other.

"I think a venue for local women business leaders will be a great way for existing and incoming business women to meet each other and serve as sort of a support for each other." Martin's idea for the format of these new monthly meetings is different from your typical networking group. "This isn't just about shaking hands with everyone and leaving with a stack of business cards," says Martin. Instead, each hourly meeting will include an informal discussion on recent developments in one's industry or recent developments in the community, and how they affect our lives. Martin calls this "changes that change our lives." The rest of the meeting time will be meeting other attendees and having a cup of tea or coffee together. "I'm excited to attend Bronwyn's new venture. She's always thinking and putting together something different."
