This week Asia Observer was relaunched with a complete redesign and added functionality. One of the most important new features is inviting the members share Asia articles they find worth reading. Members submit stories and the ranking on the front page is determined by the votes of the other users.

Asia Observer also offers news headlines for each country in the region, a comprehensive web guide as well as discussion forums.

- We want Asia Observer to be a lively community for people who are interested in Asian affairs, says editor John Einar Sandvand.

Mr. Sandvand is an experienced journalist and started Asia Observer when he worked as a foreign correspondent in Asia in 1999. Asia Observer was designed as the site he would love to use himself covering the Asian region for a European newspaper.

For seven years Asia Observer (http://www.asiaobserver.com) has been an important portal to Asia for people interested in following the news and developments of the region.
