Ticket to Ride (www.ttride.co.uk) have now move on from Coffee Bay, and headed up the coast to Umtentweni, where the surf camp is situated right in front of an empty beach break, with only a small fence defining the end of the garden and the start of the beach. Both stops have presented the group with the opportunity to learn from some of South Africa's surfing greats, both with world titles to their name.

Whilst in Coffee Bay the group benefited from the expert tuition of 1990 ProAm World Champion Dave Malherbe. Dave has a history of competitive surfing, more recently claiming 3 SA Masters titles in 5 years, and getting to the final at the prestigous World Masters Championships in Peurto Rico. He has coached the majority of South Africa's top surfers, including WCT veteran Greg Emslie, and rookie Royden Bryson.

Now that the group have moved onto Umtentweni they are seking expert advise from another South Africa all time legend. Ant Borodowicz has a World title to his name from 1978, and remains one of the largest characters on the South African surf scene to this day. Now based in Margate, Ant remains a highly competitive surfer, and coach, recently coaching the Masters team to the title at the World Masters Championships.

Having the opportunity to learn the art of surfing from such distinguished personalities in the surfing world is an opportunity to be relished. The knowledge that has been passed on to the Riders, will never be forgotten, and the chances are that they will never again be in a situation where they will have so much knowledge available on tap.

The next stop is The Secret Spot in Durban, where the group will have the chance to meet currect Womens WQS campaigner Tammy-Lee Smith. Here the group will be taking their SSA Level 1 surf instructors award, and the Basic Surf Rescue Award, with the hope of becoming internationally qualified surf instructors.
