March, 2007 – Richmond Business School is hosting a Southern England Anti-Bullying Conference aimed for local authorities and school leaders, to discuss new ways of tackling and eradicating all forms of bullying within schools.

The conference is being held on Thursday 22 March at Richmond Business School, and will include guest speakers from national anti-bullying charities such as the Anti-Bullying Alliance and industry experts Vantage Technologies.

Delegates attending the conference will be able to share best practice and develop new ways to tackle racist, homophobic and disability-related bullying in schools.

Richmond Local Authority joined a national anti-bullying initiative spear-headed by Vantage technologies, and which now has over 40 local authorities across England involved. The pilot uses Sentinel, an innovative web-based system which enables staff and pupils to report instances of bullying securely and confidentially over the Internet. Teachers are alerted in real-time so that appropriate action and support can be provided.

The conference will offer delegates the opportunity to help address the issue of bullying within schools, and to develop a robust and effective anti-bullying strategy.
