Interior designers, Rhonda Hull and Susan Guest, recently attended “Interiors ’07-the ASID Conference on Design” in San Francisco. ASID, or American Society of Interior Designers, is the largest organization of interior designers in the U.S.

The theme of the conference was sustainability and green design. Hull and Guest participated in continuing education units including universal design, designing for all ages and disabilities, energy efficient interiors, providing healthier environments, and business practices.

Participants were invited to practice energy and water conservation during their stay and to join ASID in purchasing tree seedlings to offset the environmental effects from the conference. An auction was held at the San Francisco Design Center that raised over $65,000 for student scholarships. “It is our responsibility as designers to learn as much as possible to provide clients with design solutions that enrich not only their lives, but also our environment”, says Ms. Guest.
