March 28, 2007: ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Nina Matteson of St. Charles commercial real estate firm Dutchman Realty recently became a certified member of the Dardenne Prairie Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Matteson is an Administrative Assistant in Accounting Services at Dutchman Realty and says her training allows her to be prepared to help local citizens in case of an emergency.

The Community Emergency Response Team program is designed to help citizens protect themselves and their families, neighbors and neighborhoods in emergency situations. In CERT Training, citizens learn how to put out small fires, provide basic medical aid, organize volunteers and search for rescue victims safely.

The CERT concept was developed by the Los Angeles City Fire Department in 1985, and FEMA made training available nationally in 1993.

“We value having one of our team members prepared to help our local communities in case of an emergency and encourage other community members to do the same,” Dutchman Realty Owner Dee Bax said. “At Dutchman, we’re connected to our neighborhood, St. Charles County, and work to land progress for communities through teamwork and vision.

Dutchman Realty was founded by Dee Bax in 1988, and has been the leading real estate firm in commercial and land sales in St. Charles County more than a dozen times. The Dutchman team specializes in connecting buyers and sellers of commercial property in the area and works to land progress in the communities it serves through vision, teamwork, experience and technology.
