“For Love & Honor, ” is the story of how the eight Ivy League colleges invented the game of football and pioneered the concept of the scholar-athlete. It also shows how irreplaceable lessons in discipline, perseverance, and teamwork continue to be taught on the Ivy League gridirons.

This historic documentary, currently in production, is the story of how the eight Ivy League colleges invented the game of football and pioneered the concept of the scholar-athlete. It also shows how irreplaceable lessons in discipline, perseverance, and teamwork continue to be taught on the Ivy League gridirons. No other American sport has a richer history or has helped train a greater number of national leaders.

“For Love & Honor” capitalizes on the talents of award-winning filmmaker Erik Greenberg Anjou (Middlebury ’83) (“The Cool Surface”-Columbia TriStar, “A Cantor’s Tale”-Ergo Media and Mark F. Bernstein (Princeton ’83), author of “Football: The Ivy League Origins of an American Obsession.” The feature-length film includes interviews with former Ivy League stalwarts Tommy Lee Jones, Calvin Hill, Ed Marinaro, Dick Kazmaier, Chuck Bednarik, Buddy Teevens, George Shultz, and Dan Jiggetts, among many others, as well as contemporary game footage of all the Ivy League schools in action.

The production team also includes directors of photography David Sperling, Sam Henriques, and Kevin Egan; editor Karlyn Michelson; and sound design by Dog Bark Sound. Most recently, Michael Tollin has joined the project as executive producer. Previously a principal at Tollin-Robbins Productions in L.A., Michael's credits as a Producer and Executive Producer include "The Bronx is Burning" (coming 2007), "Wild Hogs," "One Tree Hill," "Smallville," "Coach Carter," "Varsity Blues," and "Hank Aaron: Chasing The Dream."
