(Vancouver, BC. April 7, 2007): The Real Estate Tech “Meetup” organized by Vancouver real estate software company Ubertor is now the largest in North America, with over 215 members, and monthly turn-outs of over 70 real estate professionals, technology consultants and various other service providers.

The group is organized using the popular Meetup.com website, where groups of all kinds can schedule events, RSVP, form discussion groups and network online. “Meetup.com helps people find others who share their interest or cause, and form lasting, influential, local community groups that regularly meet face-to-face,” says the site’s ‘About’ page.

Ubertor Co-founder Stephen Jagger promotes the Meetups along with partner Michael Candine Stephenson, and they have been pleasantly surprised by its growing popularity. “We just wanted to create a place where agents and tech experts could get together and talk about the latest technology available in the real estate industry,” said Jagger. “To see it become this popular this quickly is very satisfying.”

The setting of the group’s meetings might have something to do with its rapid growth. Each month they convene at Ceili's Irish Pub at 670 Smithe Street in Vancouver; outfitted with projector screens and lit with the dim glow of laptops throughout the room. Short presentations are sandwiched by open networking, and fueled by the available suds on tap. Both the setting and the content of the presentations are popular with attendees. “The Meetup is an invaluable source, and an industry ‘think-tank’ that incorporates old school business practices with new age technology,” said Vancouver Realtor Ian Watt. “I love it.”
