Mouser Now Stocking New High-Power LEDs from Lumex

March 31, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Mouser Electronics, Inc., the only distributor to release a new catalog every 90 days, today announced it is stocking the latest high-power LED trio from Lumex, including the LuxLEDs™, SuperFLUX LEDs™, and One Watt AstraLEDs™.

All are available in very unique surface-mount packages with 34 product variants that combine high levels of illumination with low power consumption, making them ideal for any situation requiring very high light output with low power consumption, such as decorative or automotive interior lighting, LCD backlights, as well as animated signs, warning lights or alarms.

“One of Mouser’s core competencies is to rapidly stock and market innovative new products for our design engineering customers,” said Mike Scott, Mouser Vice President of Active Components, “and this expansion of new high-power LEDs from Lumex is another example of how Mouser creates added value for the engineer’s new design projects.”

The High-Power LuxLEDs™ are available in 14 different versions with emitted colors of yellow, red, blue, green, and white. Features include axial intensities as high as 24,000mcd with total flux levels up to 5.0Lm at If = 120mA, package footprint of 11mm x 21mm, and a maximum power dissipation of 320mW.

The PLCC-4 package of SuperFLUX™ LEDs are offered in 10 different versions and available in yellow, blue, green, white, and orange/red colors. Features include axial light intensities ranging up to 25,000mcd with total flux levels of 15Lm at If = 350mA, and a maximum power dissipation of 120mW.

The AstraLEDs™ provide the highest intensities of all Lumex High-Power LEDs and deliver a flux level of 30Lm with a power input of 350mA. These 1W devices are available with two different lens shapes for maximum viewing angle and can be used with automatic surface-mount soldering processes by including extended metal backplanes to allow efficient heat transfer to the PCB or other mounting surface.

Mouser supports engineers in the earliest stages of the design cycle with no minimum order size, breaking packs for orders as small as one piece, and same-day shipping for fast delivery on most orders received from 7 am – 8 pm Central Standard Time. As the fastest growing catalog distributor in the electronics industry, Mouser is the only distributor to publish a new 1,800+ print catalog every 90 days. In addition, its website is updated daily and features more than 755,000 available products for easy online purchase 24 hours a day.
